    Upon checking in we asked for the manager to send us ice in the morning as the freezer had only two trays, no one turned up.

    Although the vessel was relatively easy to handle I would not recommend that the DREAM BOATEL be taken onto the river by anyone totally lacking in boating skills. A basic understanding of the use of Generators also a good idea.

    No Usable hot water as the water pressure was useless (the gas instant hot water would cut of if the pressure dropped)

    One engine that failed so we couldn't cruise as far as we wanted to, it took all day before they came to see what they could do so we had to limp back towards Renmark.

    The Cafe style Coffee machine worked overtime once it was discovered how simple it was to operate and how great was the coffee it produced !

    I am writing this review on this boat, I still have 2 nights to spend but I am terribly disappointed. Generally this is a good boat, but THERE IS NO HOT WATER and the WATER IS DIRTY. So basically you have to wait a good 20 minutes and turned as many lights and appliances as you can then the hot water would only be enough for a quick shower. Plus the water is unclearly yellow. We are now seriously thinking to book a hotel room nearby for everyone to take a shower. We paid good money and what we have is not worth for it.

    Admittedly it was extremely hot (47 degrees) when we checked in to the Boatel last Friday afternoon. The Air-conditioning was inadequate to say the least. The boat was an oven on arrival despite being assured it (air-con) had been on for hours. I would say that the boat had been locked up for days and was so hot for our booking that the evaporative air-con had no chance to cool down until that night. Not fit for purpose in my opinion. If the management are going to leave it locked up in such weather and not at least open some upstair windows the night before this is what happens. The blinds on one side of the living room were in operative so when the breeze at night did eventually arrive to cool the boat, you couldn't get a cross breeze because it would damage them. Torture, as the next day was to be 42 degrees so when were stuck with a boat that had:

    With loads of storage space we "stocked up" prior to leaving Renmark but did have occasion to call and request a delivery....milk, wine,fruit and other basics "up river" to our "Home Away from Home" after about 4 days and this was handled promptly and efficiently by Wendy and Nick.

    Shame as it has all the elements of a terrific experience, they (management) just need to lift, service items regularly and upgrade parts that are not currently up to the job and repair inoperative and broken fittings and fixtures.

    The 5 Double / Twin rooms, each with superb ensuite facilities were comfortable and bedding and bathroom linen of excellent quality. Bathroom amenities a nice added touch creating a 5 star feel throughout.

    We certainly didn't have any problems with hot water, though we had been warned that the water came from the river, and so we could expect it to be discoloured. We were supplied with plenty of water to use for drinking and cooking.

    Would I book it again. No. I felt that even thought we paid very good money, there was no sense of urgency to render assistance. I won't prove my self right by using this service again.

    We had a fabulous time on this luxury houseboat! The ensuite cabins were very comfortable, with tons of storage. The kitchen was great to work in, and very well appointed.
